Assistant Manager for H2020 Project UNCOVER

In the frame of a European (H2020) research project “UNCOVER”, we are looking for an Assistant Manager to work closely with the team at the Royal Military Academy of Belgium who can take on a leading role within our team and who likes to coordinate projects from beginning to end. Active collaboration with the UNCOVER partners in the overall management of the project is paramount, performing a variety of management tasks and assuring the day-to-day project management. We seek a candidate who can bring strong organizational skills, has attention to detail and who has strong interpersonal skills.


Research engineer / Scientist (M/F) Departement of Chemistry

In the framework of a research project financed by Belgian Defence, we are looking for a research scientist with a master's degree in Chemistry or in civil or industrial engineering with a specialisation in Chemistry.


Publication laboratory for plasma physics, most read paper in "Physics of Plasmas"

In recent months, the LPP-ERM/KMS team, in collaboration with scientists from more than twenty laboratories around the world, has summarized the experimental progress and various applications of the three-ion ICRH scenarios in a review paper for the American scientific journal "Physics of Plasmas". Because of the very positive judgments during the review process, the Editors of the journal choose to promote the paper as a "Featured Paper". Moreover, only two weeks after its official publication, the paper received more than 1000 views and it is currently one of the most read papers of this prestigious journal.


Robotics & Autonomous Systems unit receives the 2021 NATO IST Panel team excellence award

The Robotics & Autonomous Systems unit of the department of Mechanics has received the 2021 NATO IST Panel team excellence award for its work on leading research and efforts towards providing a more accessible and easier way of implementing standards for unmanned ground vehicles by other international organisations.


Report: Performance Management in Defense Organizations

The NATO SAS096 Research Task Group report on "Performance Management in Defense Organizations" is available online (ISBN 978-92-837-2152-9). This includes major contributions from Colonel IMM Geert Letens dr. Ir. and Senior Captain Joaquim Soares from the RMA.

Team RMA wins the NATO Innovation Challenge

A multi-disciplinary and multi-departmental team of RMA researchers and the Belgian Navy has won the NATO Innovation Challenge. The team consists of Daniela Doroftei (MECA), Frik Vanderstraeten (ex-SSOC), Michaël Dewyn (FILO), Salvatore Lo Bue (PSPS), Geert De Cubber (MECA) and Tom De Vleeschauwer (COMPOSNAV).
