Research Engineer/Scientist (M/F) for the Royal Military Academy, Department of Mechanics, project “Near-field pollutant dispersion due to explosions” (MSP20-02)

The Royal Military Academy is looking for a full-time research scientist/engineer with a master's degree in Applied Sciences/Engineering/Physics/Computer Science in the field of fluid mechanics and/or numerical simulation. Candidates looking for a doctoral position are strongly encouraged to apply and will be preferred. The work consists first and foremost of an experimental campaign at the explosive ordnance disposal site in Poelkapelle, complemented with the implementation of a numerical model. In this study we focus on the quantification and the modeling of the dispersion of small particles due to an explosion, to quantify potential health risks at the disposal site at Poelkapelle and to obtain numerical models for explosion-driven particle dispersion.
