Physical education at the Royal Military Academy (RMA) is an essential pillar, alongside academic and military training. We pursue the following objectives:
- To deliver officers to the units in good physical condition;
- To instill a sense of enjoyment in sports among future officers;
- To contribute to the reputation of the RMA through participation in competitions outside the school;
- To enable young officers to assist the physical education instructor with lessons in the unit; To develop the character of each officer.
-
Consistency and progression
Training must be consistent and progressive. Therefore, five hours of physical education and sports are scheduled in your weekly program.
-
Improvement
We encourage you to work on your physical condition outside of class hours (in the evening and on weekends).
-
Variety
We seek a healthy balance between individual and collective sports. Individual sports allow you to better understand yourself and develop your character. Collective sports develop your sense of effort, competition spirit, and group spirit.
-
Guidance
No one is left to fend for themselves. In case of problems (such as poor performance on evaluations or injuries), the sports guidance cell provides additional training sessions and an individual training program. We also work closely with the doctor and physiotherapist of the Royal Military Academy.
-
Specialists
If you score well on your annual sports evaluations, you can become a specialist in a particular sports discipline. You will then be coached by a specialist in your sport.
